Tween clothing launches and lines your mini fashionistas will love
One minute, you’re setting out her school-day outfits and helping her perfect a ponytail. The next, she’s developed her own sense of style and is putting together an ensemble that’s unique to her taste and she’s following along with a YouTube tutorial on how to create a perfect fishtail braid. Before you know it, she’ll be driving herself to the mall. Oh, how the years fly by. But, the tween years–well, they are unique. Your kids may have developed their own sense of fashion, but they still need your pocketbook to fund their creative wardrobe choices. (If you start to lose patience, just remember how you begged and pleaded with your own mom to shell out the cash for Hypercolor T-shirts and mood rings).
Here are a few launches and lines that you and your tween can agree are totally #adorbs and worthy of #ootd posts.
- Inspired by the Disney Channel’s “Girl Meets World,” the Disney D-signed line exclusive to Kohl’s channels inspiration from characters Riley and Maya. It’s a little bit rock n’ roll, a little bit bohemian, and a lot of bit cool. Hemlines are jagged, and you’ll find lots of tulle, hot pink and animal prints in this line.
- P.S. from Aeropostale is the perfect line for your kiddos entering tween-hood. Perhaps they’ve seen their older sister shop at Aeropostale and P.S. is a pre-teen brand with fun graphic T-shirts, sequin bomber jackets and trendy boots. For boys, there’s varsity jackets, popovers and cool high-top shoes. It’s a crowd-pleaser for the middle-schoolers who haven’t yet graduated to the teen brands.
- We’ll bet your kiddos will love the “Glow in the Dark” shop at J.Crew that includes everything form pajamas to T-shirts to shoes to nail polish. Also, tag #crewcuts on your back-to-school Instagrammed photos throughout the month of September, and J.Crew will donate a book to a classroom in need through a partnership with DonorsChoose.org.
