NY Fashion Week: Victoria Beckham’s toddler daughter lends us style tips
Style icon and former Spice girl Victoria Beckham showed up to New York Fashion week with her most precious of accessories on her hip: Harper, her 19-month-old daughter, who is a regular at fashion shows.
The stylish toddler was outfitted in thick navy blue leggings, a preppy checkered dress, a miniature pea coat with a fluffy fur neck and tan iddy-biddy strapped shoes. Her mom wore an oxblood-colored dress with black satiny sleeves and tall boots. Click here for photos.
Harper nailed the cute, pouty look.
These days, how stars dress their children is just as much of a reflection of their style as how they dress themselves.
We’ve oohed and ahhed at six-year-old Suri — the daughter of Tom Hanks and Katie Holmes — who looks like a Gap Kids model. (Though we were hoping she was just playing dress up a couple of years back when she stepped out in a pair of heels).
Until chocolate ice cream dribbles and grass stains come into style, we don’t suggest outfitting your child in designer duds — especially since they’re still growing.
So, here are a few affordable closet staples that we go goo-goo, ga-ga over and will have your baby looking perfect for the paparazzi that are your family members.
Peter Rabbit BabyGap collection: The charming line that celebrates the 110th anniversary of Peter Rabbit is loaded with transition pieces appropriate for winter and spring. The collection has some playful pieces — like this bunny hat –– that brings Beatrix Potter’s characters to life.
When we were coming up with combinations, we focused on what would be most versatile.
For baby girls: Chambray dotted body suit + mixed stitch cable cardigan + printed skinny jeans.
For baby boys: Woven plaid shirt + red jeans + twill boat shoes.
J. Crew colorful combos: We wish they made some of these clothes in adult sizes, too. J. Crew is well known for mixing unexpected colors for fun looks.Kids can pull of pattern mixing like pros. That’s why we love these combinations. (CLICK HERE FOR COUPONS AND CASH BACK FROM J.CREW)
For little girls: Striped tunic with polka-dot leggings.
For little boys: Alley oop T-shirt + french terry hoodie + rugged jeans
Fun clothes from Hannah Andersson: This is a go-to store for fun clothes that are well made and unique.
For little girls: If you’ve got a little girl in a princess phase, here’s a soft tu-tu like skirt that can be worn outside the house.
For little boys: We dig their fun T-shirt prints, especially this surfing primate screen-print T-shirt.
