Visit these life-sized gingerbread houses
By Aimee Heckel
Christmas can feel so magical. Especially when you’re walking through a life-sized gingerbread house.
Yes, apparent “Hansel and Gretel” fans have constructed real-life gingerbread houses all around the world. Here are a few of the craziest ones that are definitely going on our travel bucket list. Because cookies.
1. The world’s biggest gingerbread house. Go big or go home. Of course this guy’s in Texas. The Traditions Club gingerbread house holds the Guinness World Record, at 20 feet tall and 60 feet long. The construction material for this structure: 1,800 pounds of butter, 7,200 eggs, 7,200 pounds of flour, nearly 3,000 pounds of brown sugar and more than 22,000 pieces of candy.
Although the Traditions Club gingerbread house raises money for a good cause, keep your mouth shut — because this house contains 36 million calories! Talk about holiday weight gain.

2. The Give Kids The World Gingerbread House restaurant in Florida.
Grab breakfast and dinner at this special restaurant, run by Perkins. Although this building isn’t made entirely out of candy, it is colorful and magical, and the food inside is a bit healthier than 20,000 gum drops. Inside is just as thrilling, where 2,000 stuffed animals line the walls.
3. Buy your own life-sized gingerbread house.
PartySuppliesDelivered.com sells a stand-up, life-sized gingerbread house for $39.99. Although it’s only made out of cardboard, it’d be a fun holiday decoration or surprise under the tree Christmas morning.
Or create your own life-sized gingerbread house out of cardboard with this inspiration from AlphaMom.
