Wildflower Way blogger dishes on fashion, food and faith
LesLeigh created The Wildflower Way, where she shares her passion for music, books, coffee, fashion and people. Her hopeful perspective and insights are a joy to read. Meet LesLeigh …
Where I’m based: I reside in one of the best cities there is: Dallas!
How long I’ve been blogging: I’ve been blogging off and on since the glory days of MySpace, but I really threw myself into it completely in the fall of 2012.
Blog/business basics: I like to blog about fashion, food (and drinks!) and faith primarily, but really, I just write about things that I think about or find awesome (or annoying) and I hope that people sympathize with me.
Where did you come up with the name of your blog? One of my favorite movies is Alice in Wonderland (Disney cartoon version). When Alice is in the garden, one of the flowers says, in reference to Alice, “Do you suppose she’s a wild flower?” I love that line, and I like to think that that’s what people ask when they meet me. I also think there’s something poetic about it. Wild flowers grow, in essence, where they want to, but they always put down roots and give the world beauty. That’s what I want my life to be like.
What do you enjoy most about blogging? I think I enjoy the community the most. It sounds strange, in real life, to refer to people you “met on the internet” as your friends, but people truly do become friends through blogging. There is a lot to be said for (some amount of) free time and a shared interest!
Guilty pleasure: My guilty pleasure would have to be watching crappy reality TV shows, like Don’t Be Tardy, or eating cereal for dinner.
Dream job: If I had my way, I’d either be in an alternative rock band, or a folk/acoustic band and I’d be traveling the country in a tour bus, singing for packed stadiums of people. I know, I dream big.
Cupcake of choice: My answer: All of them. Just kidding, it would have to be the cinnamon sugar cupcake from Sprinkles — scrumptious!
What’s the best book you’ve read lately? It’s a book called Unravel Me by Tahereh Mafi. It was so good!
What do you do when you’re not blogging? When I’m not blogging, I like to do my nails, read, watch television, hang out with friends, do school work (not), sleep, eat, listen to music or play with my pets. I also enjoy kicking around the ol’ soccer ball and singing!
